We have been providing safe, interactive, and educational presentations since 2004.
Scales and Tails was started by Owner and Founder, Shane Richins. Shane has always had a special place in his heart for animals, but the instigator was a pet green iguana named Horse. Horse went everywhere with Shane.
As Shane got older and was looking to make a mark in society, he and his then girlfriend, Mandi, met Danny Conner, of Danny Conner’s Reptile Adventures, at the Utah State Fair.
She encouraged Shane to try his hand at starting a business where he could educate the public about these amazing and often misunderstood creatures. Several years later, he met his wife, Rindy, who helped launch him from a home business doing small traveling shows to an educational facility and retail shop.
We have grown from doing small birthday parties, to doing large fairs, corporate events, school assemblies, and community outreach.
