Christopher CJ - Musicians Saxophone Players

Christopher "CJ" Johnson is a sax player specializing in smooth jazz in the style of David Sanborn, Dave Koz and Boney James.

CJ was born and raised in Fargo, North Dakota. After high school, he fled the cold winters of the Midwest for the warmth of the South, where he enrolled in the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, studied saxophone and dance, and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in ballet. CJ danced professionally with Ballet Austin, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and the San Francisco cast of The Phantom of the Opera. He now plays music with The Pulse, The Crew and other groups in Los Angeles. And he has performed as an opening act for keyboardist Brian Simpson and saxophonists Marion Meadows and Paul Taylor, at the Santa Anita Park racetrack in Arcadia, California.
